Amlwch Viking Festival

A couple of hundred authentically equipped warriors and villagers re-enact the early 10th Century political rivalry on Anglesey, leading to internicne treachery and the eventual Battle of Ros Meilion to expel the Vikings.

At the Viking Festival Amlwch you may walk around a working 10th Century encampment, watch a Viking wedding, see the Vikings at work creating their original crafts, listen to their banter and generally soak up the atmosphere.

There are traditional craft stalls to browse or you may enjoy a cut from the hog roast as you watch the spectacular display and battles.

On the Saturday evening of the Amlwch Viking Festival there is an open-air disco in Amlwch Port, followed by the Boat burning ceremony.

Join in the hundreds of people on Upper Quay Street in Amlwch Port to witness the Ceromony and fireworks display that bring the day to a close.

On a Sunday on the Amlwch Viking festival field a hive of activity with more thrilling action culminating in the village burning in the arena.

This years Viking Festival promises to be largere than before with much more to do and see with new attractions being added both on and off the Festival Field at Madyn.

The Amlwch Viking Festival is held on the 22nd and 23rd July 2006
